Tristan’s Tidbit #1
Use Mozilla Firefox! If you are still using Internet Explorer, please wakeup…quit being stubborn…make the switch… You might actually enjoy browsing the internet. Not only is Firefox safer, but its most definitely better. Customization through Add-ons is what makes it so great. Learn to use the extra features of Firefox and you’ll learn to love it. Some add-ons I recommend:
PicLens: Full-Screen, 3D — PicLens transforms your browser into a visually stunning experience for finding and viewing online photos and videos. Our “3D Wall” lets you effortlessly search and zoom your way around thousands of images, videos, news feeds, sports feeds, and more. See our demo at http://piclens.com/demo
Better Gmail 2: Add useful extra features and skins to Gmail, like hierarchical labels, macros, signatures, file attachment icons, and more.
Flashblock: Never be annoyed by a Flash animation again! Blocks Flash so it won’t get in your way, but if you want to see it, just click on…
Foxmarks Bookmark Synchronizer: If you use Firefox on more than one computer, you’ll want Foxmarks. Install Foxmarks on each computer, and it will work silently in the background to keep your bookmarks synchronized. You can also log in to my.foxmarks.com to manage your bookmarks from any computer.
IE Tab: This is a great tool for web developers, since you can easily see how your web page displayed in IE with just one click and then switch back to Firefox.
Gmail Manager: Allows you to manage multiple Gmail accounts and receive new mail notifications. Displays your account details including unread messages, saved drafts, spam messages, labels with new mail, space used, and new mail snippets.
Firefox Showcase: Showcase provides a new way to manage your Firefox tabs and windows by showing them as thumbnails in a single window, tab or sidebar. Includes a find bar that will filter the thumbnails, and the capability to select the thumbnails in the same way you would select files in your system.
Guess what!? Today I made my first use of Tristan’s tidbits by adding on Better Gmail 2, and a Catalan dictionary onto Firefox. God you’re hot.
